Hazbin Hotel's Creator Has Seen Your Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
